This post will show you how to perform factory reset on a Palo Alto firewall. And this post assume you have admin user password of the firewall.
Step01
Enter maintenance mode using the command below.
debug system maintenance-mode

Step02
Select “Factory Reset” option.

Step03
Confirm to perform a factory reset by selecting the “Factory Reset” option.

Step04
Wait the system being reset. (This usually take around 15~20 minute.)

Step05
Check if the reset is successful and reboot the device.
